Hoshiarpur / Daljeet Ajnoha/Feb.14 : Exciting football action marked the second day of the 63rd Principal Harbhajan Singh All India Football Tournament, being organized at Shri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College under the leadership of Sporting Club President Kulwant Singh Sangha. Football enthusiasts witnessed high-quality and competitive matches throughout the day.
The Chief Guests for the day included Amrit Drav, Manager (Competitions) of the All India Football Federation, and Vijay Bali, Joint Secretary of the Punjab Football Association. They were joined by distinguished guests including Commandant Suraj Bhan Handa, international footballer Hardeep Singh Saini, Arjuna Awardi footballer Gurdev Singh Gill, and Jeet Singh Khabra.
The dignitaries interacted with the players and encouraged them to compete with true sportsmanship and dedication.
Match Results
In the first match of the day under the Under-17 category, Football Academy Mahilpur defeated Football Academy Bajwara convincingly by 4–1.
In the club category match, Punjab Police Jalandhar secured a 3–1 victory over JCT Phagwara, earning their place in the next round of the tournament.
Club President Kulwant Singh Sangha and Secretary Dr. Paramprit Kaindowal informed that apart from colleges and academies, 12 renowned football clubs from across the country are participating in the tournament. They added that the event continues to attract tremendous enthusiasm and support from the local community.
Among those present on the occasion were Wing Commander Hardeep Singh Dhillon, Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh, sports promoter Tarsem Bhan, Engineer Tarlochan Singh Sandhu, Master Binder Singh, Gurminder Kaindowal, Talwinder Singh Heer, Rajinder Maddy, and a large number of football lovers.
The stage proceedings were conducted by eminent children’s literature writer Baljinder Mann.
