Tikshan Sood Condemns Breach of

Hoshiarpur/ Oct 28 /Daljeet Ajnoha. :  In a strong statement, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Cabinet Minister Tikshan Sood has criticised the Hoshiarpur district administration and local Aam Aadmi Party representatives for violating Army traditions and using a national pride symbol for political gain.Sood said that under the policy of the Union government led by Prime Minister Narender Modi, the Indian Army has been sending damaged enemy tanks—symbols of victory in battle—to prominent public locations across India to inspire respect and patriotic pride among citizens. In line with this initiative, a tank had been approved for installation in Hoshiarpur as early as 2016, and it was recently delivered for public display.The former minister alleged that instead of properly coordinating with the District Sainik Board and the Ex-Servicemen’s Association, local authorities and an AAP MLA sought to project the installation as an achievement of their own. He termed the episode “a regrettable attempt to seek political mileage at the cost of military decorum.”Sood asserted that the exclusion of military and ex-servicemen’s bodies from the process constitutes a serious breach of Army protocols and ethics. He described the politicisation of the matter as “shameful and narrow-minded,” urging that the tank’s placement be handled in accordance with established military guidelines.He further disclosed that he has written to Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, the Union Defence Minister, and the Punjab Minister for Ex-Servicemen’s Welfare, demanding an inquiry and appropriate disciplinary action against those responsible.
