Annual Bhandara and Shrimad Bhagwat

Hoshiarpur/Jan 31/Daljeet Ajnoha : The ancient Mata Kalyani Mandir on Jaijon Road in Khanni village, Hoshiarpur district, hosted its annual bhandara and Shrimad Bhagwat Katha programme, organized by the Mandir committee under the leadership of president Tilak Raj Khanni, with support from the devotee community.The week-long event began on January 25 with a grand Shrimad Bhagwat Shobha Yatra. Daily katha recitations followed from 11 am to 4 pm, delivered by Acharya Deepak Shastri from Vrindavan Dham, Mathura, enlightening attendees with spiritual discourses. The katha concluded on January 31.As in previous years, the committee solemnized weddings for four underprivileged girls, providing each with complete household items as dowry. Tilak Raj explained that families book these weddings in advance, and the committee verifies their genuine need before covering all expenses.A blood donation camp, organized by the District Red Cross Society, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, saw 40 units of blood donated voluntarily.On February 1, a free medical camp will be held by the Vishav Manav Ruhani Kender Nawan Nagar branch, Mahilpur, offering free medicines to patients, alongside a religious programme featuring bhajans by artists Pawan Jindal, Sandeep Udhanwalia, and Sham Raja.Prominent attendees included Baldev Singh, Pandit Ram Lubhaya, Suresh Kumar, Harbhajan Lal, Rajesh Kumar Raja, and regular bhandara supporters Anil Agarwal, Joginder Pal Mannan, Dr. Lakhwinder Singh, Pandit Kailash, Bobby Anand, Rohan Vij, along with members of the Mata Kalyani Welfare Society, local residents, and villagers.
