Mehtiana Police Nab 4 in Drug

Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Nar.5 : Following directives from Police Commissioner Sandeep Malik, Mehtiana police station launched a vigorous campaign against drug peddlers and users.On March 3, a team led by ASI Kulwinder Singh, under Inspector Rajinder Singh, was patrolling from Phuglana to Ahirana Kalan village when they spotted Gurpreet Singh (son of Sukhwinder Chand, resident of Bhugarni) inhaling fumes from silver paper using a Rs 10 note shaped like a pipe near Bille’s brick kiln. They seized one silver paper packet, a lighter, and the note, registering a case against him.During the same patrol, ASI Onkar Singh’s team apprehended Manpreet Singh alias Mani (son of Baldev Singh, Baghana village, Rawalpindi thana area) and Manpreet Mandla (son of Kalwinder Mandla, Pandori Kadh village). The duo was caught near a closed motorcycle curtain, using lighters and Rs 10 notes with silver paper packets to consume drugs; one packet, lighter, and note were recovered from each, leading to FIRs.Later that day, SI Gurdip Singh’s team nabbed Kuldeep Singh (son of Avtar Singh, Mukhliana) near Khanaura playground as he fled and discarded a black polythene envelope containing 70 open red narcotic pills. Cases under NDPS Act sections 27, 61, 85, and others were registered at Mehtiana thana, with all four accused produced in court and sent to jail.
