Hoshiarpur/ Daljeet Ajnoha/May 06 :
Former Cabinet Minister and senior BJP leader Tiksan Sood on Wednesday expressed concern over the prevailing situation in Punjab, saying that the bomb blasts reported in Jalandhar and Khasa (Amritsar) in a single day have exposed the state’s deteriorating law and order situation.
He said that ever since the Aam Aadmi Party came to power, separatist elements have become active in Punjab due to the party’s alleged links with separatist groups. Sood claimed that the chief of the banned outfit Sikhs for Justice, based abroad, has also admitted to his association with the Aam Aadmi Party and to providing it funds.
Referring to incidents over the past four years, Sood alleged that several bomb blasts have taken place at police stations, police headquarters and railway tracks, while hundreds of important people have been killed by terrorists. He said there is no visible effort by the Mann government to restore law and order in the state.
Instead of correcting its own functioning, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has blamed the BJP for the blasts, which Sood described as a sign of frustration. He said it was unfortunate that Punjab had a “irresponsible” chief minister like Bhagwant Mann.
Sood further said the Aam Aadmi Party has earlier made false allegations against the BJP, including the “Operation Lotus” charge, but the truth has not yet come out. He added that if Mann has evidence for such claims, his agencies should present it, but no such proof has been produced.
He also noted that, contrary to Mann’s statement, Punjab DGP has said the blasts were sponsored by Pakistan’s ISI. Sood demanded the immediate dismissal of the Mann government, alleging that it is pushing Punjab back toward terrorism.
