Hoshiarpur/ Daljeet Ajnoha/May 12 : In line with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s ongoing campaign to eradicate drugs and protect the youth, the state police under DGP Gaurav Yadav have intensified crackdowns across Punjab through initiatives like “Yudh Abhiyan Virudh Naash” and other operations. In Hoshiarpur district, following directives from SP Sandeep Kumar Malik, police registered 113 cases under various sections, arrested 148 accused, and seized 10 kg 322 grams of heroin, 1 kg 30 grams of opium, 296 grams of charas, 3 kg 515 grams of intoxicant powder, 2,543 narcotic capsules, and Rs 1.20 lakh in drug money during April.
The district police have acted with utmost vigilance against drug traffickers and anti-social elements. Officials affirmed that strict enforcement will continue to support the government’s mission to make Punjab drug-free, with round-the-clock efforts underway.
