Hoshiarpur / Daljeet Ajnoha/June 18 : Under the leadership of tournament organizer Satish Sangad, the Sports Welfare Society successfully held its Second Annual Badminton Tournament at Saffron City Colony. Players across various age groups participated enthusiastically and put on impressive displays of skill. The event aimed to motivate young people to take up sports and promote a healthy lifestyle.
Notable guests included Lions Club Hoshiarpur Pearl president Vijay Arora, prominent social worker Sanjeev Arora, Umesh Rana and Ashwani Datta. Addressing the participants, Lion Vijay Arora encouraged the players and emphasized that sports are essential for the holistic development of society. He said the Sports Welfare Society’s purpose is to connect youth with sports and keep them away from evils such as drug abuse.
Prominent social worker Lion Sanjeev Arora said sports are a powerful medium to unite communities. He praised the Sports Welfare Society’s efforts to provide a platform for sporting talent and noted that such events play a significant role in building a bright future for young people. He added that sports not only improve physical health but also develop discipline, team spirit and leadership skills, and urged youth to actively participate in sporting activities.
Organizer Satish Sangad thanked all guests and players who attended and stated that the Society plans to hold larger competitions and more sporting events in the future. Winners and runners-up were felicitated at the conclusion of the event. Dinesh Sabbarwal made a special contribution to the success of the programme. Others present included Aniket Sharma, Amit Singh, Jaskaran Singh, Sashwat Handa, Pradeep Guleria, Anil Handa, Ravi Sluja and several others.
