Ludhiana/Daljeet Ajnoha /July 14 : To mark World Youth Skills Day, the Sun Foundation will organize a grand Convocation Ceremony and Job Letter Distribution on 16 July 2026 at the Skill Centre of Excellence Campus, ITI Gill Road, Ludhiana. During the event, 1,000 trained youth from Sun Foundation’s Skill Centres across Punjab will receive NSDC Diploma Certificates and appointment letters from leading companies, reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to creating employment opportunities and empowering young people through industry-focused skill development.
The ceremony will be graced by Punjab Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria as the Chief Guest, while Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Shri Jayant Chaudhary will preside over the function. The event is being spearheaded by Padma Shri Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Chairman, Sun Foundation, whose vision has transformed the lives of thousands of youth through free, employment-oriented skill training.
Speaking ahead of the event, Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney said:
“Skill development is the strongest pathway to employment, dignity, and nation-building. Every trained youth represents a family’s dream fulfilled and a stronger India. Through Sun Foundation, our mission is to ensure that every deserving young person gains the skills, confidence, and opportunities needed to build a successful future.”
He further added:
“On World Youth Skills Day, we reaffirm our commitment to empowering Punjab’s youth with globally relevant skills and meaningful employment opportunities. Our vision is to transform job seekers into skilled professionals and future leaders who will contribute to India’s growth story.”
The ceremony will also feature live skill demonstrations, trainee interactions, exhibitions, presentations on innovative skill development initiatives, and a visit to the newly refurbished ITI campus, highlighting Punjab’s growing commitment to building a skilled, empowered, and self-reliant workforce.
