Hoshiarpur/July 30/Daljeet Ajnoha : Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Hoshiarpur, submitted a memorandum to the Assistant Commissioner, Hoshiarpur, addressed to the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab, demanding immediate reforms in the education sector and urgent intervention to safeguard the future of Punjab’s students. The memorandum highlighted several pressing issues, including repeated examination paper leaks, delay in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, shortage of permanent teaching faculty, lack of academic infrastructure, pending scholarships, restoration of student union elections, regulation of educational institutions, promotion of research and innovation, establishment of anti-drug mechanisms on campuses, and improved employment-oriented education.

Addressing the media, Ankit Kundra, State Joint Secretary, ABVP Punjab, said that repeated paper leaks have shattered the confidence of lakhs of hardworking students and exposed serious shortcomings in the state’s examination system. He stated that despite repeated assurances from the Punjab Government, students continue to suffer due to administrative failures.
Kundra further said that the paper leak cases referred to the Vigilance Bureau in 2022 are still pending, and students are yet to receive justice. He questioned why no concrete outcome has emerged despite the passage of several years and demanded that all pending investigations be completed in a time-bound manner and those responsible be brought to justice.
He further demanded the establishment of a secure and transparent examination system, full implementation of NEP-2020, transparent recruitment of permanent faculty, timely release of scholarships, restoration of student union elections, regulation of arbitrary fee hikes, creation of Career and Placement Cells, and stronger industry-academia collaboration.
Kundra asserted that ABVP will continue to democratically raise issues concerning students until meaningful reforms are implemented.
The memorandum was submitted in the presence of Ankit Kundra, State Joint Secretary, ABVP Punjab, Ritesh Sharma, City Joint Secretary, ABVP Hoshiarpur, and Abhishek Kumar, Unit Member, ABVP Hoshiarpur.
