Hoshiarpur /August 12/Daljeet Ajnoha : Under the directions of BBMB Chairman Manoj Tripathi and the guidance of Chief Engineer, Pong Dam, Rakesh Kumar Gupta, a one-day technical workshop was organized for the engineers of Pong Dam with the objective of strengthening their technical knowledge and professional capabilities. The workshop focused on various important technical aspects related to the gates of dams and headworks.
Engineer Shiv Dutt Sharma, former Chief Engineer, Central Water Commission, participated as the technical expert. He delivered an informative session on the planning, design, construction, installation and operation of gates used in dams and headworks. He also shared his valuable experience regarding gate performance, safety, maintenance and operational challenges, along with possible solutions to such technical issues.
Earlier, Superintending Engineer Manveen Choudhary welcomed Engineer Shiv Dutt Sharma and highlighted the objective and significance of the workshop. She emphasized that keeping engineers equipped with the latest technical knowledge is essential for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of dams.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Deputy Chief Engineer V. K. Meena expressed his gratitude to Engineer Shiv Dutt Sharma for sharing his valuable technical expertise and experience. He said that such technical workshops play an important role in enhancing the professional capabilities of engineers and ensuring the safety and efficient operation of dams.
Prior to the workshop, Engineer Shiv Dutt Sharma also visited Pong Dam and reviewed various technical and operational aspects of the dam. Executive Engineers Arvinderpal Singh Ubhi and Gaurav Lamba, along with various SDOs and Junior Engineers, were also present on the occasion.
