Dr. Dhingra said that in today’s rapidly changing professional environment, academic qualifications alone are not sufficient for career success. The college is therefore focusing on combining academic knowledge with practical skills, creativity, industry exposure and experiential learning.
She highlighted that the college offers a wide range of vocational, professional and creative programmes, including Physiotherapy, Multimedia, Performing Arts, Applied Art, Design, Journalism and Mass Communication, E-Commerce and other emerging fields. B.Voc. and M.Voc. programmes in Data Science, Cosmetology, Theatre & Stage Craft and E-Commerce, along with short-term courses in Graphic Design, Website Design, Digital Marketing, Beauty and Wellness, are also aimed at enhancing students’ employability.
Discussing the college’s legacy, Dr. Dhingra said its foundation and educational philosophy were inspired by visionary educationist Dr. Stya Paul ji. She noted that the institution’s emphasis on specialised education and the arts continues to guide its present-day approach. The college has also maintained a strong record of cultural excellence, including being Youth Festival champion for 25 consecutive years.
Dr. Dhingra further explained that the institution encourages interdisciplinary learning, international collaborations, workshops, cultural interactions and study-exchange programmes. Modern laboratories, studios, an auditorium, workshops, industrial visits and innovative teaching methods such as the flipped classroom help students connect theoretical learning with practical experience.
She stressed that education should not merely prepare students for employment but should also develop confidence, adaptability, ethics, empathy, integrity and social responsibility. “Education must also shape the individual,” she said, underlining the college’s commitment to producing confident, creative, skilled and responsible young professionals.
