Vastu Defects Can Also Lead

by

Hoshiarpur/October 8/Daljeet Ajnoha :
Modern lifestyles, academic pressures and uncertainty about the future are increasingly affecting the mental well-being of young people, according to internationally recognised Vastu expert and author Dr Bhupendra Vastu Shastri.
Dr Bhupendra said that when Vastu-related defects existed in a building, a person could experience mental stress, loneliness, discouragement and, in some cases, depression. He claimed that such problems could affect people from different walks of life, including senior government officials, industrialists, politicians, artists, students, journalists and sportspersons.
“Everyone in the city appears to be troubled. There is a storm in their eyes and a burning sensation in their chest,” he said, adding that people were constantly looking for solutions to their problems.
According to Dr Bhupendra, defects in the north direction, the north-east, south-west, north-west and south-east corners, as well as in the central area or Brahmasthan of a building, could contribute to mental distress, loneliness, inferiority complex and lack of motivation.
He suggested keeping the north-east portion of a building light, clean and properly sloped, while leaving the eastern side open. He advised against placing water-related elements in the south-east and said the southern side should be kept relatively elevated and heavy.
The south-west portion, he added, should not be kept low or open, and underground water sources should not be installed there. Heavy construction could be undertaken in the western direction, while defects relating to entrances in the north-west should be avoided. He also recommended keeping the central portion of the building open and ensuring the proper placement of the five elements.
However, depression is a recognised mental-health condition and should not be attributed solely to Vastu or treated only through architectural changes. Evidence-based mental-health care, including consultation with a qualified mental-health professional, remains important, particularly when a person experiences persistent sadness, hopelessness or thoughts of self-harm. India has a substantial burden of mental disorders, including depression, and the association between depression and suicide underlines the need for timely professional support.
