Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/November 08 -Dr. Prashant Gautam (Chandigarh) and Shri Manmeet Sohal (Ludhiana) have been re-elected as State President and State Secretary respectively of the country’s leading student organization Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad for the session 2024-25. This announcement was made today from the ABVP State Office (Jalandhar). According to the statement issued by Election Officer Dr. Rajan Bhandari from the State Office of ABVP today, the tenure of both the above posts will be one year. Both the office bearers will assume their charge in the 56th State Convention of ABVP Punjab State to be held in Ludhiana on 13-15 November 2024.
Dr. Prashant Gautam is originally from Chandigarh. He has studied up to Ph.D in Tourism. Presently he is working as Professor in the Department of Tourism at Punjab University, Chandigarh. He is a member of the Senate of Punjab University, Chandigarh. More than 100 of his research papers have been published in international and national research journals and 15 of his books have been published on the subject of tourism. He has been in touch with ABVP since his student life in 1998. As a teacher activist, he has so far discharged responsibilities ranging from Chandigarh District Incharge to Punjab State Vice President etc. Currently, he is the State President of ABVP Punjab State. He has been re-elected to the responsibility of State President for the upcoming session 2024-25. His residence is Chandigarh.
Shri Manmeet Sohal is originally from Jalandhar. He has studied B.Sc, Diploma in Pharmacy and B.Ed from DAV College Jalandhar. He has been in touch with ABVP since 2017 and have been a full-time Karykarta since the year 2020. Earlier, he has discharged important responsibilities like Jalandhar Mahanagar Secretary , State Joint Secretary, District Organising Secretary. He has played an important role in the anti-drug campaign being run by the Vidyarthi Parishad in Punjab, assistance to people during the Corona period and various movements for education reform. At present he is Ludhiana Vibhag Organising Secretary. He has been re-elected to the responsibility of State secretary for the upcoming session 2024-25. His Kendra is Ludhiana.
