Cabinet Minister attended ‘Umang 2025’ Season 7 as the chief guest
Cultural competition organized for specially abled children
– 330 children participated in 29 teams from all over the country
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/April 12 : A colourful event of ‘Umang 2025’ (Season 7) was organized at James Cambridge International School, Hoshiarpur under the joint aegis of Jagjit Singh Sachdeva Asha Kiran Special School run by Ashadeep Welfare Society and Special Olympics India, Punjab Chapter. This event was organized with the aim of giving a platform to the talent of intellectually challenged children and empowering their confidence.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister of Punjab Government Aman Arora was present as the chief guest. He said that specially abled children are a precious heritage of our society. They have immense possibilities and special talents hidden inside them. Through such events, not only their morale increases, but they also get a positive identity. The Punjab Government is fully committed to inclusive development and such events will get every possible support in the future too.
Appreciating the efforts of the organizers, Mr. Arora congratulated Ashadeep Welfare Society and Special Olympics team. He said that platforms like ‘Umang’ inspire children to move forward and also introduce true sensitivity to the society.
On this occasion, Amrit Sagar Mittal, Vice Chairman of Economic Policy and Planning Board Punjab and Sonalika Group of Industries, said that it is our moral duty to promote the education and social participation of special children. Events like ‘Umang 2025’ inspire the society towards harmony and show a glimpse of real inclusion.
During the program, Area Director of Special Olympics Punjab, Paramjit Singh Sachdeva said that this is the only cultural competition of its kind in the country, in which 330 special children from 29 teams from different states of India participated this year. This competition has become an example for special children across the country. He said that ‘Umang 2025’ has emerged as not just a competition but a symbol of compassion, intimacy and inclusive development.
On this occasion, MLA Tanda Jasvir Singh Raja Gill, MLA Dasuya Karambir Singh Ghuman, Chairman Backfinco Sandeep Saini, District Planning Committee Chairperson Karamjit Kaur, Chairman Market Committee Hoshiarpur Jaspal Singh Chechi, Engineer Harbans Singh, Colonel Gurmeet Singh, Manjit Singh Brar, Sports Director SOB Punjab, Ashok Arora, President SOB Punjab, Shaili Sharma, besides other dignitaries were also present.
