Kapurthala/Hoshiarpur/Perth (Australia)/ Daljeet Ajnoha/April 22 : The third Kabaddi Mahakumbh, organized by the Gladiator Club, will be held with great enthusiasm on April 26 in Perth, Australia. Sharing this information, Professor Dr. Amreek Singh, Vice Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Kapurthala, stated that the grand event is being organized by Swarn Singh Gholia with the special support of the Indian diaspora.
Women’s teams from six countries – India, Pakistan, Canada, USA, New Zealand, and England – will participate in this international kabaddi tournament. The winning team will receive a cash prize of $31,000, sponsored by Maninder Sandhu and Maninder Gill, while the runner-up team will be awarded $25,000, sponsored by Sukhveer Tiwana and Kulwinder Mudhi.
Additionally, each participating team will receive a cash incentive of $21,000. The best raider and best stopper of the tournament will also be awarded $21,000 each. International referee Dr. Amreek Singh will specially attend the event and officiate the matches according to official kabaddi rules.
Swarn Singh Gholia shared that he is committed to keeping the traditional sport of kabaddi alive among the overseas Punjabi community. Special seating arrangements have been made for women and families of the players. Accommodation and insurance facilities will also be provided to all teams.
To make the event even more enjoyable, a range of cultural programs will be presented, including traditional Punjabi folk dances like Giddha and Bhangra. Other attractions include children’s football matches, volleyball matches, food stalls, and various entertainment segments for the audience.
Arjuna Awardee in kabaddi, Balwinder Singh Fidu Singh, has sent congratulatory messages to all the organizers, applauding their efforts in promoting the motherland’s traditional sport on international soil.
