Hoshiarpur / Daljeet Ajnoha/May 1 : On the occasion of World Labour Day, a blood donation camp was organized by BDC Blood Centre in collaboration with the Indian Society of Blood Transfusion and Immunohaematology (ISBTI), Punjab Chapter. A total of 22 individuals voluntarily donated blood at the camp.
The camp was inaugurated by Sandeep Kumar, President of Divyang Social Association, Hoshiarpur, who led by example by donating blood himself. On this occasion, Sandeep stated that donating blood is a matter of pride. If a person is healthy, aged between 18 to 65 years, weighs at least 45 kilograms, and has a hemoglobin level of 12.5 grams or more, they can safely donate blood every three months.
He added that blood donation is a noble act that transcends religion, caste, and socio-economic status. The blessings of the patients who receive the donated blood are nothing short of divine.
JS Gidda, Pravesh Kumar, and Dr. Ajay Bagga highlighted the invaluable contribution of workers in the creation of everything around us, which can never be forgotten. Praveen Kumar appealed to workers to maintain good health and stay away from substance abuse.
Among those present at the event were workers Sarabjit Singh, Raman Kumar, Ishwar, Saudagar, Vijay Kumar, Sunder Lal, and Narinder Kumar Gill. From BDC, JS Gidda, Pravesh Kumar, Dr. Ajay Bagga, Malkiat Singh Sadoya, Rajiv Bhardwaj, Mukesh Kahma, Neha Kaushal, Sumeet Gill, Beena Kumari, and Prof. Onkar Singh were also in attendance.
