Hoshiarpur / Daljeet Ajnoha/May 6 : A certificate distribution event was organized for the students of the July–December 2024 batch of the six-month Urdu Literacy Course conducted by the Office of the District Language Officer, Hoshiarpur. Deputy Commissioner of Hoshiarpur, Mrs. Ashika Jain, attended the event as the chief guest.
Welcoming the chief guest, District Research Officer Dr. Jaswant Rai provided detailed information about the Urdu Literacy Course being run by the Language Department, as well as other literary and creative activities of the department.
Mrs. Ashika Jain congratulated the students who passed the Urdu Literacy Course, stating that Urdu is an ancient and beautiful language of India. She added that due to the richness of the Punjabi language, it has absorbed a treasure of words from Arabic and Persian. This has not only expanded the vocabulary of Punjabi but has also added elegance and charm to the language.
She said that the Urdu Literacy Course organized by the Language Department will further enhance the exploration and understanding of the long and vast history of the Punjabi language. Therefore, more students and readers should join this course. She personally distributed certificates to the students who passed the course and congratulated them.
On this occasion, the Language Department honored Mrs. Ashika Jain with the Chirag magazine. Those present at the event included Lovepreet, Lal Singh, Dr. Brij Bhushan (Urdu Instructor), Navleen Kaur, Principal Charan Singh, Balbir Singh, Gurbinder Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Varinder Pal Singh, Satbir Singh, Seema, Mayank Sharma, Pushpa Rani, among others.
