Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Dec.2 : While continuing the journey of street plays, started by Bahu-Rang Kala Manch Hoshiarpur in 1989, street play ‘Kaga’, written and directed by Ashok Puri, was performed at the local D.A.V. B.Ed College and at S.D. College by Himalayan Foundation Hoshiarpur. Dr. Vidhi Bhalla, Principal of D.A.V. College, Dr. Savita Gupta, Principal of S.D. College, and School Principal Radhika Ratan were specially present during this performance
Through the story of the street play ‘Kaga’, the playwright Ashok Puri, while raising social awareness, specifically mentioned that according to NACO, more than one lakh ten thousand people in Punjab and 3.14 million people in India are currently affected by AIDS. In the play, the roles of Kaga (Ashok Puri), S. Kaga, and B. Kaga were played by Vivek Hashir and Amrit Lal respectively, along with Gurmel Dhaliwal, who excellently portrayed the character of the Sarpanch .The background music and singing for the play were provided by Kuldeep Mahi and Sukhwinder Pal respectively. On this occasion, Dr. Vidhi Bhalla, Principal of D.A.V. College, congratulated Ashok Puri and his team for organizing such a meaningful program. Dr. Savita Gupta, Principal of S.D. College, was honored with an AIDS badge by the Himalayan Foundation Hoshiarpur.
