Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/ Mar.13 :As part of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s(yudh Nasian Virudh)”War Against Drugs” campaign, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Nikas Kumar chaired a review meeting with officials from various departments to assess preparations for the “Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh National Marathon” scheduled for March 22 in Mahilpur. ADC Kumar directed all departments to coordinate seamlessly to ensure the event’s success. He emphasized that the marathon, starting from Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur, goes beyond a sporting event—it’s aimed at raising awareness against drugs and inspiring youth to adopt a healthy lifestyle. This initiative under the anti-drug campaign will serve as a powerful medium to spread positive messages in society. Departments were instructed to promptly arrange cleanliness along the route, security, traffic management, drinking water, medical facilities, and participant registration. Arrangements for ambulances, medical teams, and volunteers during the event were also mandated. The ADC directed the police to strengthen security and traffic plans along the marathon route, while the sports and education departments were tasked with encouraging maximum participation from youth, students, and athletes. The district administration aims to make this a grand success to amplify anti-drug awareness across society. Officials present included Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Nidhi Kumud Bambah, Municipal Commissioner Jyoti Bala, SP Navneet Kaur, Assistant Commissioner Oaishee Mandal, SDM Garhshankar Parampreet Singh, and others.
