Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/ Dec 23 : Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Nikas Kumar today reviewed the development works going on in the district and stressed upon the officers to provide the benefits of welfare schemes to all eligible persons and to expedite the works. While chairing the meeting of officers of various departments in the District Administrative Complex, he also got information about their work from the department heads. During this, he took stock of the progress of work of various government buildings being constructed in the district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner reviewed the health programs and got information about the targets set and achieved by the department. Additional Deputy Commissioner took stock of the health programs being run by the officers of different programs and instructed them to fulfill their targets. While reviewing the various schemes being run by the Health Department, he instructed that health facilities should be provided to the residents of the district in a smooth manner. He said that it is also very important to make the public aware about the related schemes, because only with awareness can one take advantage of these schemes. He said that activities should be further intensified to ensure delivery of pregnant women in government hospitals as much as possible. He said that financial assistance given to women belonging to BPL families during delivery should also be given smoothly. While giving instructions to ensure inspection of medical stores under the Drug and Cosmetic Act, he said that strict action should be taken if any irregularity is found. He said that maximum awareness should be spread regarding TB disease and if such patients are found, they should be treated immediately.
While reviewing the works of the School Education Department, the Additional Deputy Commissioner directed the District Education Officer to obtain information about the working style of the School of Eminence selected for providing qualitative and excellent level education to the students of the district. During this, he also instructed to maintain the quality of food being provided under the Mid-Day Meal. He said that the Education Department should ensure cleanliness of bathrooms and rooms in schools as well as other facilities, so that the students can be given a good environment for studies. During this, he also obtained information about the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and other programs of the School Education Department. Apart from this, he also reviewed solid and liquid waste management, housing scheme, MNREGA works, water supply and sanitation works, Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Smart Ration Card, Smart Village Campaign, Jal Jeevan Mission.
Nikas Kumar directed all the officers to complete all the projects in a timely and quality manner. He especially emphasized on projects related to rural development, water supply, sanitation, road construction, education, health and sports. He said that the aim of the district administration is to ensure transparency, quality and timeliness in development works. All departments should ensure that the benefits of every scheme reach the general public.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rahul Chaba, SDM Tanda Pankaj Kumar, SDM Mukerian Kanwaljit Singh, SDM Garhshankar Harbans Singh, SDM Hoshiarpur Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, besides officers of other departments were also present.
