All‑India Adi Dharma delegation

Hoshiarpur/ Daljeet Ajnoha/May 16 : A delegation of the All‑India Adi Dharma (registered) led by national president Sant Satvinder Heera met Punjab SC Commission chairman Jasvir Singh Gadhi to raise concerns over deteriorating roads, flood damage and other problems at the sacred site of Shri Khuralgarh Sahib, the land that bears the footprints (charanchoh) of Guru Ravidas Maharaj. The delegation included the movement’s national treasurer Amit Kumar and Gurlal Saila.
Sant Satvinder Heera told the commission that he has been serving as the chief sevadar at the historic shrines — Charanchoh Ganga and Charanchoh Begampura (Shri Khuralgarh Sahib) — since 2009. He said four major events are held at the site every year and that it draws hundreds of thousands of devotees annually. He warned that the poor condition of the roads not only causes severe inconvenience to pilgrims but has repeatedly led to accidents, claiming lives. According to him, nearly 20 people have lost their lives in past incidents and many injured were treated at PGI.
Pointing out that the state government is preparing to celebrate the 650th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas Maharaj on a large scale, Sant Heera called the development a matter of pride for Punjab residents and devotees. He urged the government to instruct the concerned departments to rebuild the roads at Shri Khuralgarh Sahib before the anniversary celebrations to ensure devotees’ safety.
He demanded that the road from Begampura Chowk to Minar‑e‑Begampura be widened to at least 60 feet, the gradients levelled, and 20‑foot high guard embankments (gadars) be erected on both sides. Until the work is completed, he asked that the Hoshiarpur administration be directed to set up a traffic control room from Begampura Chowk to Minar‑e‑Begampura to strictly bar heavy vehicles and prevent accidents.
Sant Heera also drew the commission’s attention to an unpaved stretch of about 150 metres from the historic Charanchoh shrine to Sachkhand Begampura that is vulnerable to rainwater. He requested directions to the relevant departments to construct embankments (dams/bunds) to protect the area from flooding.
SC Commission chairman Jasvir Singh Gadhi assured the delegation that the demands would be brought to the government’s notice and that directives would be issued to the concerned departments to start the necessary work soon. He said efforts would be made to provide all required facilities at Shri Khuralgarh Sahib.
