171 cyclists from 7 states take part
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Mar.8 : The Sachdeva Stocks Hoshiarpur Cyclothon 2026, organised by Fit Biker Club in line with the Punjab government’s anti-drug campaign and the “Plastic-Free Hoshiarpur” initiative, concluded successfully with participation from 171 cyclists across seven states.The 100-km event, flagged off in the morning from the Sachdeva Stocks head office by ADC Oaishee Mandal and Sonalika Group Director Akshay Sagwan, saw cyclists aged 14 to 85 take part. The route passed through Dasuya and Unchi Bassi before returning to the starting point.Chief guest Oishi Mandal and Akshay Sagwan praised the initiative, stating it not only promotes fitness but also sensitises people to the harmful effects of drugs and plastic. “Such events should be held regularly to strengthen the social reform movement,” they added.Fit Biker Club president Paramjeet Sachdeva announced that the entire registration fee collected would be donated to JSS Asha Kiran Special School in Jahan Khela. Special children from the school performed a cultural programme at the flag-off.Around 10 women cyclists participated, a highlight of the event, and were felicitated by Mandal and Sagwan on Women’s Day. At Dasuha, MLA Karmaveer Ghummman’s team welcomed the riders. Sachdeva thanked SSP Sandeep Malik for directing traffic police to ensure smooth traffic control, contributing to the event’s success.The club provided meals for participants, along with T-shirts, medals, and refreshments for every cyclist. Cyclists Dr Pawan Dhingra (Ludhiana), Megha Jain (Ludhiana), and Rupesh Kumar Bali were honoured by the club.Those present included club members Gurmail Singh, Rohit Bassi, Uttam Singh Sabi, Munir Nazar, Ramandeep Boparai, Daulat Singh, Dalvir Singh Rehsi, Tarlokchan Singh, Uokan Singh, and Amrinder Saini.
