BBMB Organizes Cleanliness Awareness Program

Hoshiarpur/ April 7/Daljeet Ajnoha : Under the directions of Chief Engineer Rakesh Gupta, the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) held a cleanliness awareness program at Government Girls’ Senior Secondary School, Sector 3, BBMB Township, Talwara. The event was led by Executive Engineer (Township) Ravinder Singh, with Additional Superintending Engineer (Water Supply Division) Vinay Kumar attending as the chief guest.
Executive Engineer Ravinder Singh, from the Township Division, informed that BBMB regularly organizes activities under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. During today’s program, the school was also gifted cleanliness-related materials. He added that such initiatives by BBMB heighten public awareness about hygiene, inspiring every citizen to keep their surroundings clean.
In his address, chief guest Vinay Kumar urged the girl students to understand the importance of cleanliness, noting that nature has bestowed us with a beautiful Earth full of resources. “It is our duty not to pollute it and to live in harmony with nature,” he said. He emphasized that our surroundings are our responsibility—just as we keep our homes clean, we must actively maintain cleanliness in our environment.
School Principal Guran Das praised BBMB’s efforts. Teachers Anju Thakur and Vandana Sharma shared messages on cleanliness awareness with the students, while student Kanika also presented her thoughts on the topic.
Among those present were SDO (Water Supply) Shivam Garg, SDO (Horticulture) Dheeraj Kumar, SDO (Estate) Gopal Singh, and Junior Engineers Ravinderpal Singh, Gulshan Kumar, Harpreet Singh, Jatin Sharma, Omarav Singh, and Raju.
