BSP Ramps Up ‘Save Punjab

Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Feb.15 : The BSP held a key meeting in Punjab with district committees and assembly constituency presidents in attendance. Leaders expressed deep concern over the state’s political, economic, and social conditions, deciding to intensify the ‘Punjab Sambhalo Muhim’ (Save Punjab Campaign). Chief guest Randhir Singh Beniwal, central in-charge, and special guest Pratap Singh, central in-charge for BSP Punjab, joined state president and former Rajya Sabha member Dr. Avtar Singh Karimpuri. Addressing the gathering, they highlighted worries over farmers’ debts, citing parliamentary data showing Punjab farmers burdened with three times the national average debt. BSP leadership resolved to expand the campaign’s reach to farmers and urban residents alongside Dalits and backward classes, assigning duties to various leaders. They noted the plight of laborers in a state where farmers are crushed by debt, asserting only BSP’s campaign can provide solutions.Commenting on the Punjab Governor’s recent anti-drug yatra, leaders called it politically motivated and ineffective, stressing drugs require honest policies, not mere marches. They blamed Congress, Akali Dal, BJP, and AAP for pushing Punjab into crisis, urging voters to give BSP a chance to make the state drug-free, debt-free, and rid of land, sand, and drug mafias.Dr. Karimpuri sharply criticized Akali Dal-BJP ties, accusing BJP and RSS of encroaching on Sikh gurdwaras and historic sites in Delhi, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Bihar, with Akali Dal equally responsible. He vowed BSP would prevent this in Punjab and launch a major awareness drive.The meeting saw senior leaders including state zone coordinators Prajapati Ajit Singh Bhaini and Chaudhary Gurnam Singh; state general secretaries Advocate Balwinder Kumar, Baldev Singh Mehra, Master Amarjit Singh Jalour, Nirmal Singh Nimma (former MLA), Tarsem Thapar, Lal Singh Salhania, and Master Om Prakash; Engineer Jaswant Rai (state office secretary), Paramjit Mal (state cashier), and others from districts like Ropar and Ludhiana.
