Hoshiarpur/ (Daljeet Ajnoha/March 28 Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) State President and former Rajya Sabha Member Dr. Avatar Singh Karim Puri has leveled serious allegations against the current Punjab government, stating that the state’s economic condition, rising unemployment among youth, drug menace, farmers’ struggles, and deteriorating law and order situation have pushed Punjab into a critical phase. He claimed that the government has failed to meet public expectations and has become a regime of mere hollow promises.
During an exclusive conversation with senior journalist Daljeet Ajnoha, Dr. Karim Puri expressed concerns over Punjab’s financial situation. He stated that the state government is not addressing the increasing debt burden and its impact on future generations. “The common man in Punjab is in distress. Every time new promises are made, but on the ground, there is no real change,” he remarked.
He further pointed out that government jobs for youth are shrinking, and even the private sector in Punjab is struggling. “Unemployment has pushed young people into the grip of drugs. There are no jobs, no motivation, and no new opportunities. This situation is dangerous for Punjab’s future,” he warned.
Speaking about the farmers’ situation, Karim Puri highlighted that farmers are still fighting for their rights, but the government’s policies remain the same. He alleged, “The government makes promises, but it does not listen to the voices of farmers. No specific policies have been framed for their welfare.”
When asked by Daljeet Ajnoha whether BSP could emerge as a major force in Punjab politics, Dr. Karim Puri confidently stated, “People want change. BSP has always been a party that represents Bahujan interests. We are making strong preparations for the 2027 elections. The public is supporting us, and we will make every effort to live up to their expectations.”
