Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/August 6 : On the occasion of the centenary of martyrdom of Ghadar movement’s brave woman revolutionary Bibi Gulab Kaur Ji, a grand commemorative event was organized by the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Education Seva Society. As part of the ceremony, Senior Trustee Surinder Kumari Kochhar was honored for her remarkable contributions in the field of social service and preserving the legacy of freedom fighters.
The event was presided over by Professor Jagmohan Singh (nephew of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and President of People’s Rights Committee), Surinder Kumari Kochhar (Trustee, Desh Bhagat Yaadgaar Committee), Sardar Ranjit Singh Aulakh (Member, Desh Bhagat Yaadgaar Committee), and eminent Punjabi writer and thinker Sardar Talwinder Singh Heer.
Several distinguished scholars and artists paid tribute to the sacrifices of Bibi Gulab Kaur and other freedom fighters. Speakers included Dr. Charanjeet Kaur, Mrs. Ranjit Kaur Mahimoodpur, writer-singer Dharminder Masani, Rajkumar Mahal Khurd, and Satpal Saloh, who highlighted the contributions and sacrifices made by Ghadar revolutionaries and Bibi Gulab Kaur.
Biba Neha, Mrs. Balwinder Kaur, Madam Gurvinder Kaur, Dr. Hari Krishan, Coach Sarbjit Singh, Balbir Singh, and Jaspreet Kaur Nangal, along with Society President Manjeet Kaur Bola, paid floral tributes and presented poetic tributes to Bibi Gulab Kaur and the Ghadar martyrs.
The stage was efficiently conducted by renowned poet and singer Amardeep Banga.
During the event, Sardar Bahadur Singh Sidhu and his wife Jatinder Kaur Sidhu, who had come from Ballowal, District Hoshiarpur, were also honored. Bahadur Singh Sidhu has donated blood 68 times, while his wife has donated 33 times, earning them the distinction of being the first blood donor couple of Hoshiarpur district. They have also received a State Award for their selfless service.

Members of various organizations also participated actively, including Asha Worker Union, Tarksheel Society, Punjab Rural Labour Union, literary forums, and numerous social service institutions — all joining hands to pay heartfelt tributes to the martyrs of the Ghadar Movement.
