Hoshiarpur / Daljeet Ajnoha/June 30 : As per the directives of the Election Commission of India, the quarterly inspection for June 2025 of the EVM (Electronic Voting Machine) warehouse established at the district level in Hoshiarpur was conducted today by the Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab, Sibin C. The inspection took place in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Elections) Amarbir Kaur Bhullar, and was attended by representatives from various political parties.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Nikas Kumar and Assistant Commissioner Oeshi Mandal were also present.
During the inspection, the EVM warehouse was opened, and the condition of the EVM and VVPAT machines, security arrangements, sealing systems, and CCTV surveillance setup were thoroughly examined. All related records, logbooks, and entry registers were also reviewed to ensure complete transparency in the process.
Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C. stated that the quarterly inspection of EVM warehouses is a routine and essential procedure conducted periodically in every district. The objective is to uphold the fairness, security, and transparency of the electoral process. He expressed satisfaction that the arrangements at the Hoshiarpur warehouse met the highest standards.
Representatives of political parties remarked that such initiatives by the Election Commission strengthen public confidence in the democratic process and help dispel misconceptions regarding the impartiality of the machines.
Present on the occasion were Bhushan Kumar Sharma from the BJP, Rajneesh Tandon from the Indian National Congress, Jaspal Singh and Jai Ram from the Aam Aadmi Party, Madan Singh Bains from the Bahujan Samaj Party, along with EVM Nodal Officer Balwinder Singh, Assistant Nodal Officers Jaspal Singh and Rupinder Pal Singh, PWD XEN Gurmeet Singh, SDO Tilak Raj, Tehsildar (Elections) Harminder Singh, Election Kanungos Deepak Kumar, Lakhvir Singh, and Rajan Monga.
