Serving special children is a noble cause – Colonel Koundal
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/June 12 : Colonel J.S. Koundal and his mother, Mrs. Prakash Kaur, visited JSS Asha Kiran Special School in Jahankhela and spent quality time with the special children. During the visit, they interacted with the children and discussed their needs and the school’s future plans.
On this occasion, Colonel Gurmeet Singh, Secretary of Ashadeep Welfare Society, briefed Colonel Koundal about the school. He shared that the school was started in 1995 with just four special children, and the land for the school was donated by the village panchayat of Jahankhela. Today, the three-storey school building is fully equipped with facilities designed specifically for the needs of special children, including a lift, ramp, hostel, park, and more.
Colonel J.S. Koundal remarked that serving special children is a noble act, and praised the Ashadeep Welfare Society for their dedicated efforts. He assured that he would continue to visit the school in the future and support the children by helping fulfill their requirements.
Mrs. Prakash Kaur expressed her heartfelt peace and joy upon visiting the school, saying “there is no greater service than serving these children.” During the visit, she donated a sum of ₹2 lakh to the school committee.
