Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha /March 24 : Deputy Director General (DDG) of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Ms. Bhawna Garg, IAS held a District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee meeting with Smt. Aashika Jain, I.A.S. Deputy Commissioner, Hoshiarpur along with Shri. Nikas Kumar, IAS ADC Hoshiarpur & variousofficials from other departments were also present. Thediscussion focused on the new use cases of Aadhaar,and the latest guidelines issued by the Government of India.
Ms. Garg highlighted the government’s initiative to strengthen Aadhaar records by updating residents’ Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA) documents. Residents who enrolled for Aadhaar before 2015 and have not updated their details even once are urged to complete the update at the nearest Aadhaar center or through the online portal https://uidai.gov.in. The online update facility is free of cost until 14th June 2025.
Emphasizing the security features of Aadhaar, Ms. Garg advised residents to lock their biometrics online to enhance security. She also stressed the importance of registering mobile numbers with Aadhaar to enable seamless access to various Aadhaar-related services via https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in or the mAadhaarmobile application.
DDG further emphasized on the use of correct names in D.O.B certificates .To facilitate Aadhaar enrolment for children under five years old, the administration will organize special enrolment camps at institutional delivery hospitals, nursing homes, vaccination centers, and Anganwadi centers.
Further it is mandatory to update biometrics for the children on attaining the age of 5 and 15 respectively. MBU is a crucial process that ensures the accuracy and authenticity of Aadhaar data, if not done Aadhaar of these children is disabled on attaining the age of 7 and 17
Additionally, District Education Officer will create a roster of children from schools to carry out the MBU process smoothly (targeting age group of 5-7 and 15-17) for conducting mandatory Aadhaar update camps on weekly basis,
DC Hoshiarpur asked for conducting training sessionsby UIDAI for which Ms. Garg agreed, Further DC directed district officials for conducting Aadhaar enrolment camps, regular inspections of Aadhaar centers, complete pending enrolments, MBU, and enhance awareness about Aadhaar through print and social media.
Smt. Aashika Jain appealed residents to ensure thattheir Aadhaar details are up to date for uninterrupted access to government and financial services.
