Hoshiarpur/Nov19/Daljeet Ajnoha : Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Ashika Jain, along with senior civil and police officers, conducted a detailed inspection of the Nagar Kirtan route from Hoshiarpur to Garhshankar to review preparations for the grand religious procession commemorating the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that all departments must complete arrangements related to reception, security, and logistics well in advance. She stated that a team of senior officials had earlier reviewed the route covering Mukerian, Dasuya, Garhdiwala, Bhoonga, and Hariyana. Continuing that exercise, today’s inspection covered Naloyian Chowk, Mata Chintpurni Chowk, Gurdwara Mithha Teevana, Gurdwara Sri Kalghidhar Sahib, Prabhat Chowk, Phagwara Chowk, Ghanta Ghar Chowk, Session Chowk, Mahilpur Adda, Chabbewal, Mahilpur, and Garhshankar road.Elaborating on the itinerary, Jain informed that the Nagar Kirtan, which began from Sri Nagar, will enter Hoshiarpur district on November 21 via Pathankot, where it will be accorded a guard of honour at Mukerian. On the same day, the procession will travel through Dasuha and Garhdiwala before halting for rest at Gurdwara Sri Rampur Khera. The next day, November 22, it will proceed from Rampur Khera through Bhoonga, Hariyana, Hoshiarpur, Chabbewal, Mahilpur, and Garhshankar en route to Sri Anandpur Sahib.She instructed all departments to ensure timely completion of sanitation, traffic regulation, lighting, medical aid, and other essential arrangements. The DC underlined that no lapses would be tolerated in the preparations for welcoming the Nagar Kirtan. Special duty rosters for officers will be implemented at various points to ensure smooth coordination and convenience for devotees. Decorative welcome gates are also being erected along the route.Extending an open invitation to the residents of Hoshiarpur, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain urged people to participate with devotion and enthusiasm in this historic event dedicated to the unparalleled sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.Among those present during the inspection were Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Nikas Kumar, SP Major Singh, SDM Hoshiarpur Gursimranjit Kaur, SDM Garhshankar Sanjeev Kumar, District Development and Panchayat Officer Sandeep Singh, Joint Commissioner Municipal Corporation Sandeep Tiwari, Executive Engineer (PWD) Gurmeet Singh, Executive Engineer (Power Corporation) Kuldeep Singh Thakur, and other senior officials from various departments.
