18-Ban on lighting fire in 1000 yards area of Ammunition Depot, Unchi Basi, Dasuha
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Nov.6 :
District Magistrate Komal Mittal has issued orders for various restrictions in the district using the powers conferred under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defense Code 2023.
According to these orders, running illegal hookah bars in the district will be banned because such hookah bars use tobacco, cigarettes and body-damaging chemicals, which prove harmful to human health and also have a bad effect on society.
The owners of poultry farms, rice shellers, kilns and other small industries in the district have been ordered to register the names, complete addresses and three photographs (right, left and front) of the employees working with them in their register. The owner has also been directed to keep the fingerprints of the employees in his register and get its record registered in the concerned police station or police post. House/shop owners and tenants have also been directed to immediately register the name and address of their tenants in the police station or police post of their area.
The District Magistrate has also banned the cutting of green mango, neem, peepal and banyan trees in the ‘delisted’ area in the district. According to the orders, if it is necessary to cut these trees under special circumstances, then this can be done only after the permission of the Forest Department. For this, the Forest Department will follow the same procedure which is adopted for granting permission under Section-4 and 5 of the Punjab Land Preservation Act-1900. Apart from the delisted area, if it is necessary to cut green mango, neem, peepal and banyan trees in the district, then permission will have to be taken from the District Deputy Commissioner’s office.
Similarly, the District Magistrate has imposed a complete ban on burning of crop residue in an area of 1000 yards (914 metres) from the outer wall of 18-Ammunition Depot, Unchi Basi, Tehsil Dasuha, District Hoshiarpur. All the above orders will remain in force till 8 January 2025.
