Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Feb.10 : Lions Club Vishwas, under the leadership of Lion Vijay Arora, member Road Safety Committee Punjab, in collaboration with Traffic Education Cell, is running a campaign to spread awareness about traffic rules. A program was organized today in Government High School Mandiala. It was presided over by club member and Sarpanch village Mandiala Sukhwant Singh. While Madam Tajinder Kaur and Manohar Chand ASI were present as the keynote speakers.
Addressing the program, Madam Tajinder Kaur made the children aware of traffic rules and said that a child below 18 years of age should not drive a vehicle because according to the new law made by the government, if a minor child is caught driving a vehicle, his parents can be imprisoned for 2 years or fined Rs 25000. She also told the adults not to drive without a driving license and to keep their vehicle documents complete. If any accident happens then you should get justice. He especially told the people who ride bullet motorcycles that they should not install pressure horns and should not burst crackers.
On this occasion, the program president Sukhwant Singh instructed the children not to use China thread and said that due to this many people have lost their precious lives and due to this thread many birds have been killed while flying by getting caught in it. He appealed to the administration that if the person selling China thread is caught then he should be given the harshest punishment so that other people can also get a lesson.
On this occasion Lion Vijay Arora and prominent social worker Lion Sanjeev Arora said that if any person becomes a victim of any accident on the road then do not make his video but immediately take him to the hospital so that his life can be saved in time. In this regard, the government has also implemented the Farishta scheme, the person who will take an injured person to the hospital will be awarded with a reward of Rs. 2000 and a certificate.
Principal Harpreet Kaur thanked the club and said that the seminar organized today has benefited the children as well as the staff. She also appealed to other organizations to follow this and go to other schools to make the children aware.
