Hoshiarpur / Daljeet Ajnoha/May 6 : Dr. Arpandeep Kaur, daughter of renowned children’s writer and author Lecturer Raghubir Singh Kaloa and Lecturer Arminder Kaur from Mahilpur, has brought pride to her hometown once again. After previously securing the 177th rank in NEET PG 2024 across India, she has now achieved another major milestone by securing the 62nd rank in the Combined Medical Services Examination (CMSE) conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
Speaking on the achievement, Dr. Arpandeep Kaur shared that this examination is conducted annually by UPSC for the recruitment of medical officers in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. These appointments are made under the President of India through the concerned department.
She further explained that around 50,000 MBBS doctors appeared for the exam held across 41 centers in the country. In the first phase, 1,604 candidates were shortlisted, followed by interviews in the second phase, where 165 candidates were selected. Dr. Kaur secured the 62nd rank, following which she has been appointed under Cadre-1 for Community Health Centre (CHC) services by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Notably, Dr. Arpandeep Kaur is currently pursuing a post-graduation in Dermatology. Taking this into account, the Ministry has granted her a three-year extension to begin her CHC services after the completion of her specialization.
