Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney Presents 4

Hoshiarpur/April 2/Daljeet Ajnoha : Padma Shri awardee and Member of Parliament, Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, has presented a comprehensive report card highlighting his impactful work and contributions over the past four years as a voice of Punjab in Parliament.
The report reflects a strong commitment to development, welfare, and inclusive growth across the state. Dr. Sahney ensured 100% allocation of ₹18.31 crore MPLAD funds, directing them towards key development projects throughout Punjab. He also secured ₹4100+ crore for zero-interest loans, significantly boosting the state’s capital expenditure.
In a major push to education and infrastructure, he facilitated the upgradation of the Semiconductor Lab (SCL), Mohali, with a commitment of ₹4500 crore by the Centre. Additionally, he played a key role in raising issues like water diversion from Punjab and advocated for students’ rights in university centralisation policies.
Dr. Sahney has also been instrumental in infrastructure growth, including the approval of the Rajpura-Mohali Rail Link and development of industrial clusters, while consistently demanding a comprehensive financial package for Punjab.
Relief, Rehabilitation, and Social Welfare Initiatives
During the Punjab floods, his efforts brought relief to thousands. Over 53 villages were supported with rescue operations, 20,000+ households received ration and hygiene kits, and 200 houses were constructed or repaired. His initiatives also restored over 2000 acres of land and provided essential medical services through mobile units.
Empowering Youth through Skill Development
Focusing on youth empowerment, Dr. Sahney established world-class multi-skill development centres in cities like Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, and Delhi. These centres have trained nearly 10,000 youth, with over 6,800 successfully placed in jobs, strengthening Punjab’s employment ecosystem.
He further adopted 12 ITIs across the state, upgrading them with modern technologies such as robotics, 3D printing, and CNC machinery to align with global industry standards.
Healthcare, Education, and Social Contributions
In healthcare, Dr. Sahney donated a state-of-the-art Gen X ECMO machine worth ₹1 crore to Guru Ramdas Hospital, Amritsar, enhancing critical care facilities. His philanthropic efforts also include launching the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Scholarship Fund, supporting 48 underprivileged students in pursuing professional education.
He has also supported drug rehabilitation centres across multiple districts in partnership with the Punjab Government, addressing a key social challenge.
Heritage and Cultural Preservation
Dr. Sahney contributed to the restoration of Heritage Street at Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, with a grant of ₹3 crore. He also supported the development of the Saragarhi Memorial in Ferozepur, preserving Punjab’s rich history and legacy.
Mission Against Illegal Immigration & Vision for Punjab 2047
Through “Mission Hope,” he facilitated the repatriation of over 150 Punjabis stranded abroad and supported action against illegal immigration networks.
Looking ahead, his Punjab Vision 2047 initiative, organized in collaboration with global experts, lays a strategic roadmap for the state’s sustainable development, focusing on economic growth, innovation, and infrastructure.
