Kapurthala/Daljeet Ajnoha/August 9 : A special meeting of the Kapurthala District Chokball Association was held at New Ahuja Sweets near Char Batti Chowk under the leadership of Mamta and Gagandeep Kaur. The event was graced by special guests DSP S. Gurmukh Singh, Rakesh Kumar, and Rajiv Walia (President, Youth Sports Welfare Board).
During the meeting, Rajiv Walia briefed all members about the Chokball game, stating that his aim is to introduce new sports in Punjab so that more and more youth can engage in games and physical activities.
Rakesh Kumar also interacted with the members and provided information about Chokball. It was collectively suggested that more coaches should be trained in Chokball so they can promote the game in schools and colleges by training children.
With the unanimous consent of all members, DSP S. Gurmukh Singh was appointed President of the Kapurthala District Chokball Association. He was honored with garlands and bouquets, and congratulated on his appointment.
In his address, S. Gurmukh Singh thanked all members and assured full cooperation in promoting Chokball, while also announcing that new members would be inducted into the association.
The event was attended by Tejinder Singh Bhandari, Nitin Sharma, Paramjit Singh, Balwinder Singh, Darshan Singh, Sanjeev Walia, Samarjit Singh, and others.
