Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/August 16 :
Under the able guidance of President Dr. Anoop Kumar and Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand (Retd. Principal), D.A.V. College of Education, Hoshiarpur celebrated 78th ‘Independence Day’ with great fervour and patriotism in collaboration with D.A.V. Sr. Sec. School, Hoshiarpur. On this great occasion Worthy Chief Guest Dr. Manoj Kapoor, Member, D.A.V. College Managing Committee, Hoshiarpur hoisted the National Flag in the premises of the College with full dignity & respect. On this great occasion, Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla, Principal Rajesh Malhotra, D.A.V. Sr. Sec. School, Hoshiarpur, teaching & non-teaching staff of the college and school along with students were present.
On this patriotic festivity, Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Group of the College organized a cultural programme. Principal Dr. Vidhi Bhalla formally welcomed the dignitaries and congratulated on this special occasion. She further exhorted the students to follow the ideals of the great freedom fighters and respect the national emblems. The students of the D.A.V. Sr. Sec. School, Hoshiarpur showcased a colourful spectacle of India’s vision in the honour of motherland and sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters through dances and songs. Saurav Badhan and Karan B.Ed. Sem.-III students also sang songs and created an ambience of patriotic devotion.
While addressing the gathering, Worthy Chief Guest Dr. Manoj Kapoor first congratulated on this special day and added this celebration is devoted to the people who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country and talked about the vision of developed Bharat and developed minds. He also motivated the students to work hard and respect the dignity of the nation and awarded Manisha and Sonia to secure first merit position in Panjab University, Chandigarh and Shanvi Jain, Anmol Jasra, Ashmita and Harnoor Kaur were awarded to qualify PTET / CTET and placed as Lecturers in prestigious schools of the City.
President Dr. Anoop Kumar also highlighted the significance of the day and added this celebration instills a sense of patriotism, national pride and belonging among the students and the community in general.
Secretary Sh. D.L. Anand said, the day serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters who fought tirelessly for the country’s independence.
The celebration was ended with the National Anthem with vocal accompaniment by the students.
