Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Feb 13 : The five-day ‘Nature Fest’, organised by the Hoshiarpur district administration at the local Lajwanti Sports Stadium until February 17, was inaugurated today amid great enthusiasm and joy. MP Dr Raj Kumar Chhabbewal formally inaugurated the fest by lighting the ceremonial lamp, describing it as a powerful platform to showcase the district’s natural, cultural, and tourism potential. DC Ashika Jain and Mayor Surinder Kumar were present alongside him. MP Highlights Key ObjectivesMP Dr Raj Kumar stated that the main aim of the festival is to promote the district’s rich natural heritage, key tourist spots, cultural legacy, and awareness about environmental conservation. He added that through Nature Fest, the general public, especially youth, will be introduced to the district’s natural treasures, while giving a new direction to tourism activities. Diverse Activities UnveiledHe informed that the festival will feature Punjab’s folk culture, traditional dances, students’ vibrant performances, handicraft exhibitions, products by self-help groups, food market, farmers’ market, kite-flying, musical evenings, and many other attractions. Detailed Schedule Outlined by DC Ashika Jain outlined the programme, noting that on February 14, there will be jungle safari (Chauhal), night camping and stargazing at Solis, open mic, fashion show, and cultural presentations. On February 15, expect cyclothon, bird watching at Talwara, forest discovery trail (off-roading and trekking), boating, and treasure hunt, with singer Prabh Gill’s night as the highlight. She further detailed that February 16 includes industrial visits at Unnati, Fapron, and Citrus, Miyawaki site visit, kids’ carnival at Van Chetna Park, and cultural activities with star night at Lajwanti Stadium. The fest culminates on February 17 with presentations, competition results, award distribution, and a special singer night by renowned Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan.
