Hoshiarpur/ Daljeet Ajnoha/Jan.7 : Hoshiarpur Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Aashika Jain has issued a series of restrictive orders across the district, exercising powers vested in her under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.Under the orders, the District Magistrate has banned the possession and sale of Pregabalin capsules without a valid licence, as well as their storage or sale in excess of approved limits. Chemists and others have also been barred from selling this medicine without a doctor’s prescription. Any violation of these directions will invite legal action, the orders state.The District Magistrate has further imposed a complete ban on the transportation of bovine animals during specific hours. In summer, the movement of bovines has been prohibited from 6 pm to 6 am, while in winter the restriction will remain in force from 5 pm to 7 am. Additionally, all persons keeping bovine animals have been directed to get them registered with the Animal Husbandry Department.In another order, the District Magistrate has prohibited any individual, social body, or religious organisation from delivering hate speeches against any community at public meetings, religious places, wedding functions, or other events. In case of violation, legal action will be initiated against the persons concerned.As per another directive, no individual, panchayat, municipal council, or nagar panchayat in rural or urban areas of Hoshiarpur district will be allowed to fill village ponds or water bodies (known locally as “chhapar”) without prior written permission from the concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate.In a separate order, the District Magistrate has also imposed a ban on illegal borewells and unauthorised boring in village streets and pathways across the district.All these orders will remain in force till March 7, 2026.
