Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Feb.9 : Acting on the directions of the Hon’ble Director General of Police, Punjab, the Hoshiarpur Police has launched the second phase of its special anti-crime drive, Prahar-2, aimed at tightening the noose around gangsters and organized criminal networks operating in the district.
While addressing the media, Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Malik stated that the primary objective of the operation is to dismantle all forms of gang activity and curb criminal elements that threaten public safety and law and order.
The SSP informed that special teams have been formed to conduct targeted raids, intelligence-based operations, and strict surveillance of known offenders. He emphasized that the district police are committed to ensuring a crime-free environment and warned that individuals involved in illegal activities will face firm legal action.
Under Prahar-2, police units across Hoshiarpur are coordinating closely to track interstate criminal links, monitor suspicious movement, and verify records of history-sheeters and parolees. The SSP added that preventive measures are also being strengthened to deter emerging criminal groups.
Reaffirming the department’s resolve, SSP Malik said the campaign will continue with full intensity in the coming days to restore a strong sense of security among residents.
