In a major step towards improving city infrastructure, MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal and MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa today inaugurated the construction of the Hoshiarpur Ring Road. The 2.5-kilometer road, running from Bajwara Satsang Ghar to Swarn Bypass, will be rebuilt at a cost of ₹2.50 crore with a width of 23 meters.
Dr. Chabbewal said it was auspicious to begin the project on the first day of Navratri and highlighted that recent rains and floods had severely damaged city roads. He informed that 1,000 kilometers of roads are already under construction in Hoshiarpur, while approval for an additional 500 kilometers worth ₹71 crore has been granted, covering around 25–26 new roads.
MLA Jimpa assured that road repair and construction of all major city routes will be completed soon. While acknowledging delays due to heavy rainfall, he stressed that work is now in full swing and instructed officials to ensure strong, durable roads without compromising quality.
The event saw the presence of Mayor Surinder Kumar, Senior Deputy Mayor Praveen Saini, Deputy Mayor Ranjit Choudhary, Executive Engineer Gurmeet Singh, along with local councilors, village heads, and residents.
