Hoshiarpur/ June 5/ Daljeet Ajnoha : Kuantum Papers Limited celebrated World Environment Day with great enthusiasm, continuing its annual commitment to environmental responsibility. In alignment with this year’s global theme, “Beat Plastic Pollution”, the company organized a series of impactful activities to raise awareness, promote sustainability, and engage both employees and the local community.
The celebration commenced with flag hoisting by Mr. Sushil Kumar Khetan, CEO Operations) and an environmental pledge administered by Mr. Deepener Kumar Dev, Head ESG Sustainability. A tree plantation drive within the factory premises was led by the senior management team and the plantation department, reaffirming Kuantum’s commitment to a greener future.
To engage employees, an Environmental Quiz and Kaizen/Innovative Ideas Competition were conducted. Children of employees also actively participated in poster-making, quizzes, speeches, and essay writing competitions held at the Kuantum Club Hall. Additionally, the company observed a “No Vehicle Day” to promote sustainable mobility and reduce carbon emissions.
An exhibition on paper-based alternatives to plastic was curated under the leadership of Mr. Deepener Kumar Dev, showcasing eco-friendly products and reinforcing the importance of responsible choices to curb plastic pollution.
A formal awareness session was held at the factory clubhouse, where Mr. Sushil Kumar Khetan (CEO – Operations) served as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the urgency of environmental conservation and the collective responsibility to reduce plastic waste. Dr. Sudhir Sharma (Associate Vice President) shared insights on scientific and government-led efforts to combat plastic pollution and preserve ecological balance.
The prize distribution ceremony recognized winners of the environmental competitions and was led by senior management, including Mr. Ajay Sharma, Mr. Naveen Soni, Mr. Sandeep Pabha, and Mr. Parveen Goyal.
The event concluded with a tree plantation drive at Paddikhutti village attended by Mr Mattu Ram Yadav (Head IR), Mr. Kuldeep Sharma (Plantation), Mrs. Gulshan Thakur (Sarpanch), and members of the Panchayat.
