Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Dec.9 : Under the guidance of District and Sessions Judge Rajinder Agrawal and Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Hoshiarpur, Neeraj Goyal, a legal awareness program focusing on drug de-addiction was organized today.The event took place at the District Drug De-addiction Center in Hoshiarpur as part of the National Legal Services Authority’s (NALSA) initiative titled “Drug Awareness and Wellness Navigation for a Drug-Free India Scheme-2025.” The program aimed to foster awareness about the importance of a drug-free society and educate participants on the challenges of drug abuse, relevant legal provisions, and the support services available for affected individuals.Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel Vishal Kumar and Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel Sandeep Bhardwaj addressed the attendees, providing comprehensive information to patients undergoing treatment. They elaborated on the adverse effects of drug addiction, associated legal rights, and rehabilitation mechanisms. Additionally, they emphasized the significance of legal aid in overcoming addiction, counseling support, and methods for social reintegration.Participants were encouraged to abstain from drug use, embrace a healthy lifestyle, and make full use of the available legal aid facilities. The DLSA Secretary highlighted that such awareness programs will be conducted continuously to ensure the establishment of a drug-free environment within the district.
