Chairman Sandeep Saini says screening committee sanctions approval, Corporation also provides loans for higher education
*Hoshiarpur/ Jan. 12/Daljeet Ajnoha : Punjab Backward Classes Land Development and Finance Corporation Chairman Sandeep Saini on Sunday said that the corporate has sanctioned loans worth Rs. 59 lakh to unemployed candidates for self-employment purposes under different schemes.
BACKFINCO Chairman Sandeep Saini giving information said that these loans would be provided at low interest rates to applicants of backward classes, minorities and economically weaker sections to setup their self-employment. He said that the screening committee had held a district level meeting at local office to examine the cases besides approving the valid applications. He said that eligible applicants participated in the screening committee meeting, where applications were considered under different schemes to establish their own ventures.
Chairman Sandeep Saini said that as many as 14 applicants present in the meeting with 10 applications under NMD scheme while four under NBC scheme besides dairy farming, fabrication unit, readymade garments, sanitary shop, veggie outlet, agricultural implements, photography and hardware store etc.
Audit Officer-cum-Member Secretary Raj Kumar said that under the BACKFINCO provides loans under different categories for candidates of Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections of Punjab State with annual income less than Rs. 1.00 lakh. Similarly, the candidates of Backward Classes and Minority Classes (Sikh, Christian, Muslim, Parsi, Buddhist and Jain) classes with annual income of Rs. 3.00 lakh, could avail loans up to Rs. 5.00 lakh under self-employment schemes at an interest rate of 7 to 8 percent per annum. Apart from this, the Corporation also provides loans under the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation to eligible students under the National Minority Development and Finance Corporation for Professional and Technical Education as well as pursuing further higher education. He said these loans were being provided in different slabs of 5 lakh, 10 lakh, 20 lakh and 30 lakh with different interest rates, which could be repaid in instalments stipulated by the corporation.
