Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Jan.13 : One of North India’s most vibrant and culturally rich winter festivals Lohri is celebrated at Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab with great enthusiasm and traditional fervor. Vice Chancellor Dr. A.S. Chawla in his remarks to the audience said
Lohri marks the end of winter and the beginning of longer days, symbolizing warmth, renewal and gratitude. It is traditionally observed one day before Makar Sankranti, the festival that celebrates the Sun’s northward transition (Uttarayan).
Students of the university performed traditional dances such as Bhangra and Giddha, and offered seasonal produce like sesame (til), jaggery (gur), peanuts, popcorn and sweets into the fire
“We are proud to celebrate Lohri — a festival that brings people together across generations to honor our traditions, our farmers, and the spirit of unity,” said Sh N S Rayat Chancellor “As we light the Lohri fire, we renew our hope for prosperity, harmony and wellbeing for all.” All staff and students were present on the occasion.
