Ludhiana/ June 18/Daljeet Ajnoha : Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana, Himanshu Jain (IAS), has confirmed that the district administration is fully prepared for the upcoming by-election in the Ludhiana West Assembly constituency, scheduled for June 19, 2025.
Speaking in an exclusive conversation with senior journalist Sanjeev Kumar, DC Jain shared that strict election protocols are in place to ensure free and fair polling. As part of these measures, the Ludhiana West constituency has been declared a “dry area” till the completion of polling, meaning sale and distribution of liquor is strictly prohibited.
He also informed that the campaigning period has officially ended, and all political workers and leaders who are not residents of Ludhiana West have been instructed to leave the constituency immediately, in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission.
The counting of votes will be held on June 23, and results of the Ludhiana West by-election will be declared the same day.
The district administration has assured citizens of smooth and peaceful conduct of the electoral process, with adequate security arrangements in place.
