MLA Jinpa Inaugurates District-Level Primary

Hoshiarpur/Oct 28 /Daljeet Ajnoha— The district-level primary sports competitions began with great enthusiasm today at Lajwanti Multipurpose Stadium, Hoshiarpur. The event was inaugurated by MLA Bram Shankar Jinpa as the chief guest, while Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Nikas Kumar attended as the special guest.Addressing the gathering, MLA Jinpa said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is making continuous efforts to promote sports across the state. He emphasized that the young children sweating on the sports fields today will be the ones to make the nation proud on international platforms in the future.Congratulating the participants who advanced from block and zonal levels to the district stage, Jimpa said their achievement reflects their hard work and dedication. He further added that sports not only keep children physically fit but also help steer them away from drug abuse. Jinpa reiterated the state government’s strong commitment to making Punjab drug-free and stated that strict action would be taken against anyone involved in illicit activities.The MLA assured education department officials that any requirement related to sports infrastructure or facilities would be fulfilled on priority. On this occasion, he administered an oath to the students to uphold the spirit of fair play and personally interacted with them to boost their morale.Deputy District Education Officer Amandeep Sharma welcomed the guests and expressed pride that captains of India’s cricket and hockey teams hail from Punjab, proving that the state has no dearth of sporting talent. He added that today’s young athletes would bring further glory to Punjab and the nation at national and international levels.The stage proceedings were ably conducted by Deepak Vashisth. Among those present were District Sports Officer Gurpreet Singh, Assistant Public Relations Officer Lokesh Chaubey, Manni Gogia, Principals Shailender Thakur and Trilochan Singh, Lecturer Sandeep Sood, Chander Prakash Singh Saini, District Coordinator Rajneesh Guliani, BPEO Jaswinder Pal Bansal, Charanjit Singh Sidhu, Rajkumar, Head Teacher Raman Kumar Airi, Onkar Singh Soos, Manjeet Singh Lallia, Harpreet Kaur, Poonam Rajput, Jasvir Singh, Nitin Suman, Muneet Khanna, and several officials and educators from the education department.
