NCC Cadets of Khalsa College

Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Feb.11 : NCC cadets of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur, under the able leadership of Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh and guidance of Lieutenant (Dr.) Deepak, organised a dignified awareness programme under the ‘Puneet Sagar Campaign’ on the occasion of World Wetlands Day. Embracing this year’s global theme—’Wetland Restoration and Rehabilitation’—the cadets performed intensive tree plantation in the college campus, fulfilling their moral duty towards nature.This grand rally, aimed at raising public awareness on environmental conservation, enlightened the local community about the importance of ecosystems and wetlands through powerful slogans like ‘Tree Plantation—Earth’s Ornament’. In this noble endeavour dedicated to social service and community upliftment, Naib Sub. Naval Kishore and Hav. Mandeep Singh from 8 Punjab Battalion, along with CTO Jitender Singh from Sant Baba Hari Singh Public School, graced the event and lavished praise on the cadets’ spirit of service.On the occasion, Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh inspired the cadets, stating that wetlands are not just water sources but the ‘lungs of the Earth’, and their conservation is essential for a secure future. Lieutenant (Dr.) Deepak highlighted the significance of the Puneet Sagar Campaign, noting that this small effort by the youth will prove a milestone in maintaining environmental balance.
