NRI Community Honours Young Athletes

Hoshiarpur/ Oct 24 /Daljeet Ajnoha : A special felicitation ceremony was held today at the Government Senior Secondary School, Naru Nangal, where Non-Resident Indians from different parts of the world came together to honour the school’s outstanding young athletes.Prominent businessman Sardar Sarbjit Singh Dhami from Surrey, Canada; Ajit Singh from Australia; and Sameesh Kumar, owner of Sealand Graphics, attended the event as chief guests.Students who brought laurels to the institution by winning medals at district, state, and national-level sports competitions were specially awarded medals and recognized for their achievements. Sardar Sarbjit Singh Dhami lauded the efforts of all athletes who represented Naru Nangal in various competitions and personally honoured them.To further encourage sports participation, Sarbjit Singh from Canada and Ajit Singh from Australia presented the athletes with track suits, sports shoes, and a cash prize of ₹21,000 for the school. The guests also appreciated Sports Incharge Lecturer Surjit Singh for his dedicated contribution to sports development and assured full moral support for future initiatives.It was also announced that 23 students from Naru Nangal will represent the school at the State Kho-Kho Championship to be held at Rayat Bahra Professional University on November 2 and 3.Principal Shailender Thakur extended heartfelt thanks to the visiting dignitaries and presented them with trophies and shawls as a mark of respect. The entire staff joined in expressing their gratitude to the guests for their encouragement and generosity.
