Only economically weaker sections should

Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/April 7 : Issuing a press statement, Balbir Singh Phuglana, President of Doaba General Category Front Punjab, said that after the independence of our country, the government formed to improve the condition of the backward classes of the society and to make them compatible with the times had implemented the reservation system in the country, under which the process of providing the necessary opportunities for progress to the Dalits and backward classes of the society by giving them the benefit of reservation was started. This system is still continuing, but with the passage of time it has come to light that the current system of reservation has not been able to achieve its real objective and even after 78 years of independence, the backward classes and Dalits of the society have not been able to get its proper benefit. The reason for this is that in its initial phase, this system was limited to the families taking advantage of it and there was no significant improvement in the condition of the rest of the people. During this time, the situation of the rest of the society has also changed and due to the poor economic condition of the general category people, the demand for reservation from the general category is also gaining momentum. In this regard, various organizations of the general category have been repeatedly demanding from the governments for a long time that reservation in government jobs should be given on economic basis instead of caste basis, because there are many people among the backward classes and Dalits who are financially very strong and despite owning property worth crores, they are continuously taking advantage of reservation and on the other hand, the poor people of the general category are not able to get any such facility, due to which the problems of the poor people of the general category are increasing a lot, which is a big setback for the general category. Doaba General Class Front Punjab and general organizations with similar ideology are constantly struggling with the government regarding these problems and the ministers and MLAs of the government have also submitted a memorandum regarding these demands to the Honorable Governor Sahib, but the government did not listen to them. The AAP government is deliberately not appointing the chairman of the General Commission appointed by the previous Congress government. Due to the misuse of this reservation, injustice is being done to the children of general category on the basis of merit in schools, colleges and universities. This is the reason why children are inclined towards going abroad. In the coming days, effigies of the government will be burnt at all district headquarters by Doaba General Category Front Punjab and all like-minded organizations and the general category and the entire general class will be mobilized.
