Hoshiarpur / Daljeet Ajnoha/July 12 : “Blood donation is the greatest donation, through which many precious lives can be saved,” stated District Public Relations Officer of Hoshiarpur, Mr. Hardev Singh Assi, during a conversation with Bhai Barinder Singh Masiti, Tanda Incharge of the Eye Donation Association, Hoshiarpur and a State Awardee.
Mr. Assi emphasized that there is no substitute for blood, and it can only be obtained from human donors. He added that a healthy person can donate blood four times a year without any adverse effect on their health. Hence, everyone should actively participate in this noble cause and inspire others to do the same.
On the occasion, Bhai Barinder Singh Masiti said that there is a dire need to launch a major campaign to promote blood donation. He remarked that life is impossible without blood, and it is something that cannot be manufactured in a laboratory. Appealing to society—especially the youth—he urged everyone to always remain ready for blood donation. He shared that he himself has donated blood 9 times, even at the age of 65.
Bhai Masiti further informed that the Eye Donation Association, Hoshiarpur, has been continuously running awareness campaigns on blood donation during life and eye donation after death since the year 2000.
He also shared that the association is currently being efficiently led by Chairman Bahadur Singh Sunet and Secretary Baljit Singh, along with their skilled team. The organization has successfully restored eyesight to many visually impaired individuals by arranging free surgeries conducted by expert doctors.
Assistant Public Relations Officers Lokesh Chaubey and Rajneesh Kumar Guliani were also present on the occasion.
